Inner Anchors for Outer Disruption
We’re living through a moment of profound change.
AI is no longer something we’re waiting for – it’s already here, shaping how we build, communicate, and solve problems. In the next 18-24 months, it will be a world no one can even imagine right now.
And as AI takes on more tasks, it’s natural to wonder:
Where do we fit in now? How will I still be relevant? Will I become redundant? What do I embrace? Or let go? Do I have a choice?
It’s about re-discovering what makes us humans, soulful at work – our ability to think with nuances, connect with empathy, adapt with awareness, and act with purpose. It’s about learning how to use AI well – not as a replacement, but as a partner.
The question then becomes – how to stay grounded in who I am as a human being and what my organisation stands for, even as the tools around me evolve. What it means to lead, create, and collaborate in a world where machines may know more, but still don’t understand the work!
Because when the human side shows up – curious, clear, and alive – that’s when AI truly becomes an amplifier of our potential, not a replacement.
The Human Potential Iceberg
In the Human Potential Iceberg model, the surface-level behaviors (like skills or performance) are visible & measured at an Organisational level, are supported by deeper layers (like values, mindset, and identity) remain deeper at less visible levels. These are the traits that matter most in an AI-augmented, tech-centric world.
The deeper the trait, the more enduring its impact, how people respond to change, and how meaning is made in a fast-moving AI-powered workplace.
Soulful Organisations in an AI Age
In times of exponential disruption, soulful organisations act as collective inner anchors. These are places where purpose isn’t a buzzword, but a lived compass. Where conversations include not just performance and productivity, but also meaning, connection, and care. As AI continues to reshape the ‘how’ of work, soulful organisations stay rooted in the ‘why’. They catalyse spaces where people don’t just deliver outcomes – they bring their ‘whole’ selves to work, co-creating futures aligned with shared values. Soulful organisations honour the invisible layers of the Human Potential Iceberg – identity, beliefs, and aspirations – knowing that these are the true drivers of resilience, creativity, and leadership for any organisation, in any sector. They cultivate cultures that invite reflection alongside action, presence alongside pace, and wisdom alongside data. In doing so, they remind us – the more high-tech the world becomes, the more high-touch we must remain.read more
