Carrying the Light We Cannot See

Carrying the Light We Cannot See
I have just returned from a sacred pause — a retreat in Sebastian, Florida — and I find myself holding something indescribable, luminous, and deeply alive within me. It’s hard to put into words what this time meant to me, but if I had to, I would say this: it has been one of the seven most blissful days of my life — filled with immense gratitude, overflowing love, and a quiet, steady returning to the truth of who I am.
I cannot thank you enough, Leon, my spiritual partner and the founder of the Centre, for creating the space for me to simply be – to soften, to open, to be witnessed, and to witness others in their becoming. And to Jonathan, the Managing Director of the Centre, who leads the team with such quiet grace and unwavering devotion – your presence held us all with such steadiness. Something profound stirred in me during this time: a rekindling of a light I could not see.
There was no moment of dazzling clarity, no dramatic insight – just a deep remembering. A steady glow rising gently from within. A light not meant to dazzle the world, but to quietly illuminate the path for me.
One of the most tender gifts of this retreat was finally meeting the extended team from the Centre – many of whom I was encountering in person for the very first time. And yet, the ease, familiarity, and love that flowed between us was as if we had known each other for lifetimes. There was no effort, no posturing, no need to ‘be’ anything other than who we were. Monica, Cate, Lorri, Julie, Hampus, Monica, Matt & Scott – I love you all, you are my extended family.
It was a reminder that when we meet one another from the heart, physical distance and time dissolve. What remains is presence — unguarded, real, and resonant.
It wasn’t only the grounded, radiant presence of any one individual that anchored this retreat – it was the collective field we co-created together. A gathering of souls, each bringing their unique energy, grounded in unconditional acceptance, love, and presence. There was something magnetic in how we showed up for one another – fully, openly, with reverence. It was also the rich diversity of the group: a global constellation of hearts, woven together by humility, curiosity, and care. The sacred container held by the center team, through nature walks, sound healing, breathwork, movement, dance, nature installations and the fire ceremony, allowed something much deeper to emerge. Not just insight, but wholeness. Not just learning, but awakening.
What moved me most during the retreat was the embodied sense of equality — a deep, quiet knowing that we were all walking side by side. There was no hierarchy, no striving, no separation. Just hearts meeting hearts, souls recognising one another across oceans of difference. The unspoken message that echoed in every shared glance, every gentle hand on a shoulder, every moment of dance and stillness was
I see you. I walk with you. We rise together.
In holding others, I too felt held. In offering love, I was flooded by it in return.
What I return with is not a set of practices or teachings, but a way of being. A remembrance that even in our moments of doubt, disconnection, or unworthiness, we are light.
We carry within us what the world needs most, and we are not meant to do this alone.
To carry the light we cannot see is to trust the silent stirrings within.
It is to believe in the quiet revolution of love. It is to walk with others, not ahead of them. To lead by being, not doing. To see others not through the lens of roles or identities, but essence.
As I return to the rhythms of daily life, I do so not with urgency but with reverence. I walk a little slower. Listen a little deeper. And choose, again and again, to show up as one who remembers and embraces her own Light.
