Consciousness & Coaching
As a Leadership Coach, I work with several senior Leaders across industries and cultures, the common questions they ask me are,
How can I manage complexity?
Is it possible, at this age and stage to reinvent how I think?
Do people really change? How can I be a change agent and role model change in my organization?
Is your development as a leader, keeping pace with the changes in the environment?
The Leader responds,
How can you even suggest I keep pace with the changing environment – are you not aware of the VUCA world we are living in – it is Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous?
The ask of today’s leader is to be Disruptive, Innovative, Sensitive, Compassionate, Inclusive and Profitable – is that even a possibility?
What compounds the problem, is that my CHRO, keeps talking about a leadership journey, which in my view will require me to carve out time (which I have no control of – even though I am the CEO) on a regular basis for mindful conversations – I think it is ridiculous – what do you think?
Thank you for sharing about the VUCA you experience on the outside, how are you managing the VUCA that you experience on the inside?
The Leader is silent for a while, I notice their curiosity has been ignited and I wait patiently for them to respond, and they always do, this time with a single crisp question,
What do you mean by VUCA inside?
As a Back to Source Coach, I share my perspective.
If what is happening outside is not within our control, surely what is happening inside should be within our control. The external battle of complexity can be embraced (not fought or conquered) by the internal battle of consciousness.
Consciousness is the operating system of productivity, performance, and profitability.
The collective productivity, performance, and profitability of an organization are directly proportional to the individual consciousness of the leader of the pack.
Then I ask the leader, my next question,
Are you willing to awaken the leader within you?
What will it entail?
As a Back to Source Coach, I share my perspective,
The leader does not even wait for me to finish my sentence, is visibly excited and responds,
What will it entail?
What do I have to do?
As a Back to Source Coach, I share my perspective,
Along the path, you will develop your own comfort around the following keystones
UNDERSTANDING YOUR LIFE’S LESSONS
Life teaches us lessons, are you willing to learn and progress through the journey of life? Are you willing to engage with a Back to Source Coach, reconnect to your Source to build your own understanding of life’s lessons – Some lessons may open your heart and some may open your mind?
CREATING YOUR LIFE
On your Back to Source Journey, your coach will encourage you consistently to express gratitude by acknowledging yourself with a positive focus, this is done consciously with the understanding and firm conviction in what we think about and thank about – we bring about.
TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR LIFE
A Back to Source Coach partners with you to enable you to accept your choices and take accountability for your life. You can choose to transition from a victim mindset to a source mindset.
BEING COMFORTABLE WITH YOUR CHOICES
Your Back to Source Coach will facilitate raising your level of awareness such that you actually start viewing your life as a series of choices you make or were made for you. All your actions whether benign or life-changing in nature are all reflections of the choices you make.
CHOOSING TO LIVE COMPASSIONATELY
As you journey with your Back to Source Coach, you will come to a compassionate space of acceptance. Allow yourself the gift of self-reflection, take charge of your life to harness your infinite potential.
LIVING IN ALIGNMENT WITH YOUR SOURCE
A Back to Source Coach through powerful questioning and meaningful connection with the Source, facilitates the client’s connection with the Laws of Cause & Effect, such that the client develops their own understanding and chooses a path forward in alignment with their Source.
Then I ask the leader my next question, which is pretty rhetorical,
As you are aware – I am on a journey Back to Source myself, would you care to join me?
The leader responds,
Is that even a question, of course, without a doubt
Then I ask my most favourite coaching question,
How would you like me to support you?
To which the leader’s response, seems rhetorical to me,
When can I embark on my coaching journey with you?
To which I respond,
Let’s schedule an appointment.
